Each month an excellent speaker presents a topic of interest to hearing impaired people. Assistive listening system and real-time captioning are provided. SHHH also operates a demonstration center of devices helpful to the hearing impaired at the Library. Consultations at the center are by appointment only. Call 516 763-SHHH. Deaf Senior Citizens meet weekly on Thursdays in the Msgr Smigelski Room at St. Frances de Chantal Parish, Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. St. Patrick's Young Adult Social - Social meets the third Saturday of each month in St. Patrick's Convent Basement (use ramp entrance), Huntington, from 8:00 - 10:00 pm. Hear Us Long Island is an organization of parents of deaf and hard of hearing children. The group meets monthly at the K. of C., 1869 Wantagh Ave. Wantagh, to share information and to support one another.
