National Deaf Cursillo November 20 – 23, 2008 Immaculate Conception Center Douglaston, New York What happens at a Cursillo? Those who have made it -- over 2,300 -- can’t really explain it. And it is even more impossible to explain it to someone who hasn’t made it. The apostles couldn’t explain what happened to them on Pentecost, when there came a new fire. Only the Holy Spirit knows for sure. The CURSILLO helps people come alive and gives encouragement to those who are already alive. It makes life worth living and worth loving. You will love the friendliness, the warmth, the spirit of Jesus you see in each other. COME and SEE! 1. It is for the Deaf. Only Deaf persons attend or one married to a Deaf person. 2. It is Catholic. There is Mass every day. 3. Many married couples have come. 4. It is for persons 21 and up. Who? People like yourself, who are curious, searching and growing. The team are people like you who work together to prepare and lead the CURSILLO. Lay people and spiritual directors give talks in sign language with discussion after each talk. The CURSILLO talks always include the experience of the speakers. What is the schedule? Participants arrive Thursday evening November 20 at 7:30 pm after supper. The CURSILLO will take place on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It will end on Sunday before 5:00 pm. How much does it cost? The cost is $25.00 for the registration fee and $175.00 for the weekend for a total of $200.00. Scholarships are available. Make check to "DeSales Guild."
