Gospel All Saints A

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew Mt. 5:1-12.

Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the hill and sat down.  His disciples sat around him.  Jesus began to teach the people.

“The people that are poor in spirit, they will be happy, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

The people that are gentle, they will be happy, because they will receive everything from the Lord.

The people that mourn (cry), they will be happy, because God will comfort them.

The people that want justice, they will be happy, because God will satisfy them.

The people that are merciful, they will be happy, because God will be  merciful to them.

The people that are pure in heart, they will be happy, because they will see God.

The people that want to make peace, they will be happy, because they will become children of God.

The people that want to do good things but suffer, they will be happy,  because the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.

If you suffer because other people, persecute you, hurt you and criticize you, you will be happy.

Rejoice with me (Jesus), because I will give you a great reward in heaven.”

The Gospel of the Lord.
