A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark Mark 13: 33 – 37
Jesus said to his disciples: “Stay awake, always be ready, because you never know when the time will come. It is like a man that goes abroad. He leaves his house, giving responsibility to the servants to look after the house, and telling the person guarding the door to stay awake.
So stay awake, because you do not know when the master of the house is coming, evening, midnight, early in the morning, or as the sun rises. If he comes suddenly, you must not be caught asleep. What I (Jesus) tell to you, and I tell to everyone. Stay awake!”
